Dehumidifier Advice For Buying and Using

Key factors to consider when buying a dehumidifier
You have bought your new dehumidifier but you don’t know exactly how to use it. No need to worry. We are here to tell you all the steps you need to take in order to make your dehumidifier the most effective.
Where do I put my dehumidifier?
It will be the most beneficial to position the dehumidifier relatively centrally in the room of your choice. This will allow all of the excess moisture to move freely to the dehumidifier without anything blocking its way. Also, we advise you to keep it away from radiators.
It is also best to keep all the doors in your home slightly ajar so that the air in your house can move freely and reach the dehumidifier regardless of which room you have put it in. Your home is constantly producing moisture when you cook, shower or simply just breathe, so all of this needs to be able to reach the dehumidifier for the most effective results.
How often do I run my dehumidifier?
We recommend that you run your dehumidifier continuously for the first four days after setting it up. This allows it to dry out the damp and condensation that may be lurking. After that we suggest you put your machine onto Smart Control. Smart Control will automatically monitor the moisture levels in your home and switch the dehumidifier on and off at the right time.
How do I control my Ebac dehumidifier?
At Ebac, we have developed Smart Control – a feature that allows your dehumidifier to adapt to the changing conditions within your home without you having to do a thing. Smart Control measures the humidity in the air in your home and changes its settings depending on this. This saves energy, money and saves you from constantly having to monitor and change a manual humidistat that is found on other dehumidifiers.
Controlling your Ebac dehumidifier could not be made any easier – Smart Control does this for you.
Should I monitor the water levels?
Each dehumidifier comes with a water tank that collects the moisture that has been extracted from the air in your home. You should empty the water container on a dehumidifier every day, even if it is not full. Make sure the water container on your dehumidifier is fully enclosed with a handle. Some dehumidifiers have open tanks where it is very easy to spill the water. All Ebac water containers are enclosed with a handle.
